Medicare help in Florida
Our home state. Legacy Life Group is based in Lakeland and serves beneficiaries across all 67 Florida counties.
Why local plan comparison matters in Florida
The Medicare Advantage plans available to you, their provider networks, their drug formularies and their premiums are set at the county level. Medicare Supplement pricing also varies by state and by carrier. A plan that is excellent one county over may not even exist in yours.
As independent agents serving Florida, we compare the plans that are actually offered where you live, check them against your doctors and your medication list, and give you a straight recommendation. If staying put is your best move, we will tell you that too.

Medicare in Florida: what's different
Medicare is a federal program, but a few important rules and resources are set state by state. Here is what applies in Florida.
Medicare Advantage in Florida
About 61% of Floridians with Medicare Parts A and B are in a Medicare Advantage plan in 2026. Florida has about 5.3 million people on Medicare, more than almost any other state, so plan choices are wide and change a lot from county to county.

Medigap rules in Florida
Florida requires insurers to offer Medigap plans to people under 65 who have Medicare because of a disability or ESRD, during the 6 months after Part B starts. Florida Medigap plans are priced by the age you buy them, so your premium does not go up just because you have a birthday. Florida has no "birthday rule" for switching plans, so moving to a new Medigap plan later can mean answering health questions.
Help paying for Medicare
If your income is limited, a Medicare Savings Program can pay your Part B premium and sometimes more. In Florida, apply through the Florida Department of Children and Families. For help with drug costs, you can also apply for Extra Help through Social Security.

Do you charge Florida residents for help?
No. Our services are free. We are paid by the carriers when you enroll, and your premium is the same either way.
Can you help me remotely?
Yes. We work with clients by phone and video across every state we serve, and everything can be handled without an office visit.
Can I buy a Medicare Supplement in Florida if I am under 65?
Yes. If you have Medicare because of a disability or ESRD, Florida law requires insurers to offer you a Medigap plan during the 6 months after your Part B starts. Premiums can be higher before 65, and you get a new open enrollment when you turn 65.
